Saving France's Forgotten
Architectural Treasures

Help us build the foundation to purchase, restore, and maintain abandoned châteaux across France. We're just getting started — and we need your support to make it happen.

Our Purpose

A Mission Rooted in Heritage

The Charlemagne Protection Restoration Maintenance Trust is a New Zealand registered charitable trust with one clear mandate: to save France's abandoned architectural masterpieces from ruin.

Acquire

Identify and purchase at-risk châteaux and historic buildings across France before they are lost forever.

Restore

Fund master artisans and stonemasons to painstakingly restore these monuments using traditional techniques.

Protect

Ensure long-term structural maintenance so these buildings endure for centuries to come.

Share

Open restored châteaux to the public, creating cultural hubs and preserving living history.

The Plan

Our Roadmap to Restoration

Before we can save a single château, we need to lay the legal and financial groundwork. Here's our step-by-step plan — and where your support fits in.

Phase 1ACTIVE

Lay the Foundation

Register the Trust in France, establish a French company (SIREN/SIRET), set up banking, and secure legal representation.

Target: €10,000 – €30,000

Phase 2

Identify Properties

Research and shortlist at-risk châteaux and historic buildings. Engage with local authorities, communities, and heritage organisations.

Target: €5,000 – €15,000

Phase 3

First Acquisition

Purchase the first property. Secure notarial contracts, surveys, and title transfer through our French entity.

Target: €50,000 – €100,000+

Phase 4

Restore & Maintain

Begin restoration work with master artisans using traditional techniques. Establish ongoing maintenance programmes.

Target: Ongoing

Phase 5

Scale & Expand

Launch major fundraising campaigns, acquire additional properties, and build a sustainable heritage preservation model.

Target: Future

Current Campaign

The Foundation Fund

Before we can purchase our first property, we must establish a legal presence in France. This campaign funds the essential groundwork that makes everything else possible.
